Partnership Vision & Mission

Introduction The Partnership was formed in 1997 as a central driving force to lead the regeneration of Ripon and to bring together the large number of community groups and voluntary organisations already active in the City's everyday life and development. Between 2000-05 it was instrumental in raising more than £11M, from a variety of sources, that were invested in a range of community projects.
The Partnership has a 2020 Vision that encompasses objectives across 5 areas of activity within Ripon and its locality; these are the economy, tourism, community, culture and learning. The Partnership's Mission is:'to encourage action and investment to provide an enhanced environment, a sustainable and healthy economy and a quality lifestyle for the citizens of ripon in the 21st century, whilst respecting and sustaining the best of the City's historic character and traditions.'
Current Activities The Partnership is currently driving forward a number of initiatives including a strategy for the centre of Ripon (with a particular focus on the future retail offer), the development of a Music Innovation Centre, a cinema and a strategy to cater for the wants and needs of the young people of Ripon. It is about to approach the whole of the Ripon business community with plans to develop Ripon into a Business Improvement District.
