Drop-in advice at Ripon library with Age UK
Friday 16 March 2012 to Monday 31 December 2012
Age UK Information Advisor – provides a regular one on one, drop-in advice sessions for older people every Friday 10am to 11am at Ripon Library.
The Advisor can provide information and offer help with:
• Money matters – this includes free help and guides on pensions, benefits, tax, bank accounts and credit, as well as advice on consumer issues. • Health issues – advice on healthy eating, available health services and emotional problems, as well as support with mobility and confidence on return from hospital. • Housing matters and options including social care to remain independent and care homes. • Local services, activities and support for older people. • Support for dealing with end of life and bereavement.
Age UK also has over 70 Free Factsheets, Information Leaflets and Booklets on a range of topics. These are available from any of the Age UK offices or to download form www.ageuk.org.uk/publications/
Locally, Age UK offers various activities in the community. These include: a Book Club, Lunch Club, Gardening Project, Gadabouts, Walking Groups in Ripon and Masham, Exercise Classes, Film Club, Coffee Mornings and much more. Age UK also offer an individual Telephone Befriending for older people and support to help you Regain Mobility after an accident or spell in hospital.
