More temporary road closures for Ripon

RESURFACING work will close a Ripon road for two weekends as the county council attempts to minimise weekday disruption to the city's traffic.
Blossomgate, including its junctions with Westgate and Park Street, will be closed this weekend (April 19-20) and next to allow the work to take place.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire County Council said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of Blossomgate for this essential maintenance, but we have purposely scheduled the work across two weekends to avoid major traffic disruption during normal working hours."
Meanwhile, a 10-metre stretch of Allhallowgate from its junction with North Street will be closed next week (April 21-25) to allow construction works.
During the road closures, access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times but vehicle access will be by liaison with the council's contractors. Alternative routes will be signposted.
