Lancaster bomber the star attraction at VE celebrations
A SECOND World War Lancaster bomber will once again be the star attraction at Ripon's VE Day celebrations.
The plane, from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, will pass over the city centre at around 3pm on Saturday, May 8, during a special day of events to mark the anniversary of the end of the war in Europe.
Taking place on the market square between 11am and 3pm, the day's activities will include live music of the era, a tea dance and vintage cars.
There will also be talks and presentations about life in Ripon during the war
